Religion has the power to heal people and societies. But faith can also be abused -- its unique power to motivate turned against its nobler aims. "Religion and Tolerance" is an ongoing RFE/RL project that will highlight examples of religious tolerance in our broadcast region -- and explore the reasons behind intolerance and religious persecution.

Because of the breadth of this topic, some issues, individuals, minorities, and faiths will not be discussed in the first articles. However, "Religion and Tolerance" is an ongoing series that will expand the scope of its coverage through constant updates and the publication of new material.
